Holly Baer is a recent graduate from the University of Mississippi with a degree in religious and gender studies at the University of Mississippi. Originally from Flowood, Mississippi, she writes about religion, politics, and other issues facing younger millennials who are learning about themselves. With a touch of humor and a lot of heart, she attempts to provide commentary on issues facing modern society.

She’s an avid video game player (especially Dragon Age), a dabbler in poetry and fiction, and a savant at impromptu song parodies. A fan of uppity beers and cheap whiskeys, she spends her time with dog and cat in Flowood, Mississippi.

  1. Holly, “cousin” Eric here (Eric Miller, the guy who thinks you and he might be related). Curious: what’s Oxford like? Is it a bit “hipper” than your average southern town given it’s a university town (sorry for the implied stereotype about southern towns there)?

    1. Oxford is a strange mix of modern and classic. It’s full of historical architecture and history, while simultaneously having a pretty hip art scene and world-class dining.

Oxford is the best of Mississippi, in my opinion.
